Samsung Galaxy S5 out by April?!

The next generation flagship smartphone is getting ready to raise the bar and soon. Samsung announced that the Galaxy S5 will be released in April and that there is a chance it may include innovative eye-scanning technology. An executive for the Korean tech giant confirmed that the phone will hit the stores on roughly the same timetable as the previous iterations of the phone, which have emerged and become chief rival to the iPhone.

“We’ve been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time,” Lee said. “When we release our S5 device, you can also expect a Gear successor with more advanced functions, and the bulky design will also be improved.” Lee Young Hee said speaking at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas but she would not verify if the eye scanner — supposedly an effort to better Apple’s iPhone 5S fingerprint security feature — would make its appearance in the new phone.”Many people are fanatical about iris recognition technology,” she said. “We are studying the possibility but can’t really say whether we will have it or not on the S5.” She did verify though, that the S5 would have gotten a makeover, that the look and feel will be significantly different than its predecessor.
