Doodling Good or Bad?
Do you like to doodle? Some teachers may not like you to doodle in their classrooms, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a bad thing to do. People who nonchalantly scribble or doodle while they are in class or a meeting are shown to remember more about that class or meeting then those who do not. Doodling is a proven way to help your brain remember what you learned because when you doodle you don’t daydream, and daydreaming takes a lot of your brain’s processing power. Doodling while in class, or a meeting does take some of your brain power, but not enough to daydream, just enough to keep your attention on what you are doing, while doodling. In the long run, yes, doodling while learning something boring does help you remember what you were learning.
