Coeur D’Alene in 2030

Nearly a year ago, the Coeur D’Alene 2030 project was started to gauge vision for what Coeur D’Alene will look like in the year 2030. The goal of this project is to engage the community in creating a detailed action plan to help ensure community priorities along with many other things. For the past year, organizers have spent their time gathering both scientific and not-so-scientific input from people everywhere around the Coeur D’Alene area. Organizers just recently reached out to the community asking for volunteers. The outcome shocked them. “We were worried that would only get about 10 to 12 people, and we got 35 to 40 people who responded” said, Dr. Charles Buck. The committee has great hope for this project coming into place. “I think you come to a point, in any city, where you have to leave the nest and proceed along the lines of what your community is going to benefit from and what they really need,” again stated Dr. Buck. The committee along with many community members are beyond excited to watch this plan take off, and believe it will help our community out a lot in the future.
