Lake City played their hearts out against the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies last Saturday afternoon. The result: The first trophy Lake City has brought home from state since 2002.

This was after their semifinal game against the undefeated Capital of Boise Eagles. The T-wolves worked their tails off until they finally fell 66-58. This doesn’t mean that Lake City didn’t give the Eagles a big run for their money.

After that, Lake City decided to push for the 3rd place trophy in a remarkable battle against Rocky Mountain. This time, Lake City made sure they got an aggressive start and took the lead from the beginning.

By halftime, the Wolves built up a 21 point lead, and by the third quarter, they had a 27-point lead.

As the final seconds ticked off, the Grizzlies had caught up a little bit, but it wasn’t enough. By the end of the game, Lake City lead by 16 points with a final score of 66-50.

In conclusion, Lake City has been playing phenomenally in the 5A championships, especially compared to prior years. The Lake City team as well as the students there all hope to see them do just as well in the future.
