Free Comic Book Day

If you want a free comic book, or multiple, then head over to Hastings this Saturday!

Are you into reading comic books? Do you like Batman, Superman, or any other DC or Marvel character or storyline? Have you seen a movie about a comic book character and wanted to know more about the source material? Do you just want to start getting into the adventurous and mildly nerdy world of comic books? Then I have great news!

This Saturday, May 3rd, is Free Comic Book Day. On this day, any place that sells comic books will be giving out free comic books. DC and Marvel have given books to bookstores nationwide to celebrate this great day. If you’re not sure where to go, Hastings is a great place for this. Lightning Comics, once a local comic book shop, has now moved to Moscow. If you want to partake in this, do not go there.

Free Comic Book Day happens annually. Since 2002, the first Saturday of May has been dedicated to giving away comic books. So if you can’t get to a store tomorrow, this won’t be your last chance to go, although you will have to wait a while for the next chance.

Also, Mrs. Gwen Reed has requested that willing people donate any comics. She also requests that the comics donated don’t have too much gore, and on the same token that they aren’t just for little kids. If you want to participate, you can go see Mrs. Reed in room A-9.
