The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 is premiering at Lake City! LCHS Theatre department is presenting the play for two weekends from Thursday, May 8th through Saturday, May 10th and again on May 15th going through the 17th.
The play, despite its name, is not a musical, and is set in 1940 in a New York mansion laced with secret passageways belonging to Elsa Von Grossenkneuten and her maid, Helsa Wenzel. Several of Elsa’s house guests including a comedian, a producer, a police officer, a tenor, a chorus girl, a director, and two writers arrive through a raging blizzard to what they think is an audition for a Broadway hit and make themselves at home.
Within the day, a murder takes place in the mansion. With a plethora of suspects, endless secret passages, and a blizzard entrapping them in the mansion, the bunch decides to solve the murder.
The play is directed by Sandra Seaton, with Vanessa Ventresco as Stage manager. The Cast includes: Grace Warnick, Sydney Bell, Nick Gribbin, Gabe Single-Schwall, Piper Glover, Kody Kratz, Hailey Cunnington, Apollo Rose, Lindsay Montgomery, and Tyler Brostrom.
Tickets are $7 for general public, $6 for students, senior citizens, and children, $5 for students with ASB. Curtain is at 7pm; come out and have a murderously fun time!
