It’s getting warmer here in Idaho, and that means the weather is permitting us to step outside and enjoy the warmth. Downtown Coeur d’Alene is beginning to teem with people walking up and down Sherman Avenue going thrifting and walking to the beach as they stretch their legs for the first time in a long time.

Finally, Idaho has reached the point to where we can take off our jackets and swap them in for T-shirts and shorts. The local forecasts are predicting that the temperature to stay bright and beautiful in the high 60’s to mid 70’s. This means that Lake Coeur d’Alene is warming up, and pretty soon swimming will be a regular summer activity.

If you hadn’t noticed, the local birds are coming back and singing again. Soon enough the water will be warm enough to swim in without having to go to an indoor pool; Lake Coeur d’Alene will be ours for the taking. So as summer approaches us in the last three weeks of school, the student body is growing not only tanner, but more anxious to get into the sunshine that we so rarely see.

Downtown Coeur d’Alene is a place packed full of places to visit and explore. One popular thrift store downtown is Lucky Monkey- a women’s store with a Bohemian atmosphere to it. There carry things from headbands and jewelry to dresses, scarves, and handbags. If you haven’t been there yet, it’s definitely an amazing place to shop! Visit at 412 E. Sherman Avenue right next to Coeur d’Alene Chocolates.

As summer draws nearer to us, the motivation for the upcoming finals is growing, so get out there and ace those exams!
