Downtown Coeur d’Alene will be full of energy on Friday evening because of all the holiday festivities that will be going on. The first activity that will be happening on Friday is the holiday parade. The holiday parade is full of marching bands, music, and floats. After the parade, people start to gather on the Coeur d’Alene Resort’s lawn for Christmas caroling. After the caroling, a countdown will begin before the amazing firework show. When the fireworks have ended, a switch will be turned on and over 1.5 million lights will brighten up downtown Coeur d’Alene. All of the spectacular festivities are being put on by the Hagadone Corporation. ( http://www.hagadone.com/ )
Many students are excited about the events happening on Friday, especially Stella Kirsch. I asked her what she thought, and this was her response: “I’m really excited to go downtown on friday and watch the ceremony because its a great time to hang out with friends, and watch a really cool firework show!” This ceremony is the kick off to the Christmas season, and a great way to get excited about the winter months. Kirsch also said “I think that this is the transition from fall to winter because it’s the ending of Thanksgiving, and the beginning of everything Christmas.”
