Mark Fischbach, more commonly known as Markiplier, is a famous youtuber. Fischbach uses his youtube channel  to entertain, amuse, and reach out to those in need. When you first go onto his youtube channel, you mostly see the funny, more entertaining side of his channel. He does commentary on popular games such as “Five Nights At Freddy’s”, “Octodad”, and “Minecraft,” but if you go deeper into his channel and look at his vlogs, you see the charity work he has done. 

 Fischbach uses Twitch.tv to host charity livestreams. He has hosted numerous livestreams, and his current goal is to host one livestream a month. Along with having his fans donate to charities, he offers exclusive one-day-only merchandise. The money he makes off that merchandise goes to the charity of that month. In total, he has raised  an estimate of $482,479.14. He is credited with being the first youtuber dedicated to charity work.  

In the past, Fischbach has had to do 24-hour live streams to raise all the money needed for certain charities. When he was asked about what was going through his head during those long live streams, he responded with,“Mostly, I’m just thinking about how badly I want to quit. It’s pretty grueling, but I haven’t had to go 24 hours in a long time. Last month, we raised $10,000 in under 6 hours, and we raised the $8000 for Cancer Research Institute in about 9 hours, so you can see how quickly this thing is growing. We’ve been raising the goal every single month.”

Not only does Mark do a lot for charities, but he also believes very strongly in his fans. Recently, he recorded an entire vlog dedicated to his fans. He spoke about how much they mean to him, and how he couldn’t have gotten anywhere without  them He cares so much about his fans that you can hear the emotion in his voice when he tells his fans how much they mean to him.
