Lake City High School and Coeur d’Alene High School may be rivals in most aspects of the high school experience but there is one thing they do come together for:Rock Climbing Club. Both schools meet together for indoor rock climbing at the Kroc Center. The club’s climbing hours are from 3:15 to 5:30 every week on Thursday. The club’s advisor is Eric Williams of Lake City High School.
There are several perks at the Kroc Center that club members receive. In addition to a good time, there are discounted rate wall punch cards, free rentals for harnesses and chalk bags, free lessons from a trained Kroc instructor, and additional hours of climbing from the end of practice till closing are also given.
In an interview with Hope Connacher, a student at LCHS and also a member of the Rock Climbing Club, she referred to the club as therapeutic. “It’s just so peaceful and the staff is so nice and helpful,” said Connacher.
Second semester is about to start and that makes now the perfect opportunity to mix your life up with a fun Lake City club. Rock Climbing Club is open to any student at Lake City or Coeur d’Alene. Go check it out!
