Spring sports are starting Friday, February 27th, 2015. Spring sports include: baseball, lacrosse, golf, softball, tennis, and track. If you are planning to tryout for one of these sports, you will need to have the following on file in the activities office: proof of your medical insurance, a signed athletic contract, a current physical or interim health history, an emergency card, you must have purchased an ASB card, and have paid the $25 extracurricular travel fee. All paperwork must be turned in prior to tryouts by Friday, February 27th, 2015. If you are missing any of the required paperwork, go see Karen in the activities office. Also, listen to the daily announcements for the times and places where tryouts will be held.

I chatted with a local Senior here at Lake City, Zach Weadick who plays football, tennis, and is on the bowling team. I asked him how he felt about spring sports that are coming up. Zach let me know that he is super excited for tennis, and since this is his senior year he is even more excited and going to work hard to get ready for competitions. Along with many seniors playing spring sports, this is a really great time to show coaches what you are made of and try to win any scholarships that you can. To everyone else playing any spring sports this season, I hope that your season is great and that you play your hearts out for Lake City High School!

I’m super excited for tennis coming up.”
