Softball tryouts are on March 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, with Lake City new coach Jesse Lenz. This year, we are hoping for a full season of wins and fun. Open gym for the girls started in December and everyone is ready for it to start. “I’m pumped for season!” says senior Danielle Collinson. I asked a few girls that play, and they say they feel like this season is going to be a success.
They all need to get in shape, it’s a necessity for this game. The game is fast-paced and in order to be fully involved in the game, you need to be fit.”

This year will be different, though. Softball has a new coach and things have been changing. More cardio and fitness has been introduced into the program and coach says it’s going to make the girls even better players. Lenz said “They all need to get in shape, it’s a necessity for this game. The game is fast-paced and in order to be fully involved in the game, you need to be fit.”
This year, Lake City’s team has four seniors. All are signed and going to college for softball. Hannah Nelson, senior at Lake City said, “This is my last season and I want to make it good. I’m going to miss all the girls I played with.” People are excited for this upcoming season of softball, and when it’s over, they hope they come out on top. Be sure to come to a game and support your Lake City Timberwolf softball players!
