For those of you who don’t know what “Welcome to Night Vale” is, it is a bi-monthly podcast featuring a fictional radio show of a very strange desert town called “Night Vale.” The radio show is narrated by Cecil Palmer (voiced by Cecil Baldwin) and occasionally some other guests like Wil Wheaton, Dylan Marron, Mara Wilson, and others. “Welcome to Night Vale” is very, very strange, though hilarious and artfully done.

In an interview with NPR, Joseph Fink, co-creator of the podcast alongside Jeffrey Cranor, said that he, “came up with this idea of a town in the desert where all conspiracy theories were real, and [they] would just go from there with that understood.” He said that the whole town is in a constant state of panic, which has become normal for the residents of the town.

The podcast is on a live tour around the United States this spring. The tour will go through bigger cities like Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Cleveland, Albany, and Boston. Many of these shows are sold out already. “Welcome to Night Vale” will actually be coming to the Bing Crosby Theatre in Spokane on April 27th at 8:00 P.M.
