Lake City’s annual dance, “STROBE,” is just around the corner, and students here are getting excited.
STROBE will be taking place this year on Friday, the 13th of March, from 7PM to 10PM. It will be located at Lake City in the commons. Tickets for STROBE will be available March 13th during all three lunches and at the door; tickets will be sold for $10. The first 400 students at the door will be receiving a prize!
STROBE is the biggest dance of the school year. According to Ms. Cook, a teacher here at Lake City, and also the advisor for student council, last year over 900 students attended, and this year student council is hoping to have around 1,000. The second biggest dance of the year is homecoming, which had over 800 kids in attendance.
STROBE is open to every high school student in the Coeur d’Alene school district. This includes Lake City High School, Coeur d’Alene High School, and Venture High School. To get in, students must show their current student ID card at the door.
Last year, STROBE was a huge success, and students had a blast. Kattie Whitcomb, a sophomore here at Lake City, said, “I had a lot of fun. I liked it a lot more than homecoming because this isn’t just a dress-up kind of dance, I liked that I was able to dress up in a fun way.”
