Fall Sports
October 20, 2015
Fall sports are in full swing, but are going away just as soon as they arrived! Football, cross country, swimming, cheerleading, and soccer are almost out the door. It’s been one fun season for all our T-Wolf athletes and people who participated in volunteer work with our Fall Sports. Many of the seniors who are involved in sports had much to say. “I wanted to try something new this year, so I choose to cheer,” Senior Heather Hawks said. Even though it is senior year for many of our students here at Lake City, they all want to give their very best in everything they do.

Cross Country Team
Football this year is in the transaction period of rebuilding their team. They haven’t been winning a lot, but they have been putting in 100 percent effort, because that’s the T-Wolf way of doing things. Senior Tyler Smith says, “ Even though this is my final season, I still want to make the best of it even though we are losing. The juniors that are seniors this year had huge shoes to fill in place of last year, with seniors like Jerry Louie-McGee.” This year the win to loss ratio is 1-5. It’s been a tough season so far, but it’s not over yet, and the boys still have a shot at making state-they just have to practice hard. This year one of the Wolves’ devastating losses was against Tumwater, the team from Washington we played for Homecoming Week. The final score was 35-21 and the fight back from the T-wolves was outstanding. Even though we didn’t come out on top, we still put that 100 percent in.

Varsity Volleyball Team
Soccer this year had a very good season. The girls soccer team went, 9-2-1 while the boys went 8-1. For both the girls and the boys, their varsity and JV team did a great job this year. The soccer teams are both going to district with the boys’ first district game on Thursday, and the girls’ first district game this Saturday the 10th, at 12 pm against Post Falls. We want to wish our soccer T-wolves good luck in their upcoming games because both games are going to be great games.
Next, we go to cross country which does well every year. This is a lot of the athletes last year due to them being seniors. Along with that, swimming had one heck of a season as well. The cheer leaders have not yet had their competition, but they will be ready in the winter when it comes.

Varsity Girls Soccer Team
Volleyball this year has an amazing season with lots of wins and few losses. We have gone 5-1 beating CHS with one of those wins, as well as a three-game winning streak. The girls have worked hard to get where they are now. They all are great athletes and great students in the classroom.
So before this Fall season of sports ends, see a football game, or watch a soccer game. Whatever the sport may be, be sure to support your Lake City Timberwolves!
