Lake City Just Can’t Pull it Off
October 29, 2015
The game on Friday was a tough game for our Timberwolves with a loss against our rival school Coeur d’Alene High with a score of 37-0. The Timberwolves played hard, but they just had one too many mistakes and that cost them the game. It was not one person’s fault for the loss of the game, but the loss did hit home for the whole team.
The game started off with a touchdown from Austin Lee (CHS) and then a two-point conversion right after. Both teams had some great plays but CHS prevailed. One great play that was followed through was a fumble picked up by Kyle Swenson, but, unfortunately, there could be no score made with the amazing play. The Vikings had 5 touchdowns. Lake City was so close to their first touchdown and they had it til the referee called a penalty which negated the touchdown. Senior Tyler Smith said, “ I wanted to beat them more than ever. I thought we could do it, but we just didn’t quite go the extra mile during the game to win.”
Even though the Wolves didn’t come out on top they still did their best and they played hard and that’s all you can ask for. They always just have to think that next time instead of the opponent winning it will be them. This year is just a rebuilding season, but that doesn’t mean they won’t ever win again.
