Driving while smoking can lead to causes that include to death and further problems that can affect your daily life. Smoking while driving is a distraction to driving and affects the other people around you, I don’t think you want to have on your record that you killed a family just because you thought it will be okay to drive while you are high. When you are high your reaction to things are very slow, your attention span goes down the drain, and when you get high you get hungry so most likely you will eat and drive and that’s another distraction to your driving.

If you get pulled over and you are high, the most common charges you would have would be  fines, jail (or prison) time, community service, probation. Other types of legal consequences could be victim impact program participation, home confinement (also known as house arrest), ignition interlock device use, license suspension, vehicle impounded or forfeiture, and drug and alcohol abuse programs. That’s just by driving while high, what if you had weed in your car, and bong or pipe? That adds the charges even more, a misdemeanor or felony depending on the state you live in, for a misdemeanor it’s 3 oz or less its 1 year in jail, a fine with 1,000 dollar fine, 3 oz or less than 1 lb is a felony for 5 years in jail with a 10,000 and this is an Idaho law. If you are with a group of people and no one confesses then everyone get the same charges. If a person says “Oh it’s mine.” then obviously they get pressed with the charges.

These charges stay on your record and if you want to go to a good college, or be an athlete, there is a high chance that the coach or the college won’t let you in because they want kids who give a good image for their team or school.

“How would your dog feel if you died because you were smoking in driving?” Dante Menard,  a teacher and coach at Lake City High School.
