Painting Class
Painting Class
The creativity and effort it takes to create a true masterpiece is unmistakable. It can be depicted in many of the pieces being sent out of Mrs. Chapman’s room, the art room. Students learn painting techniques and history while being able to have a creative outlet through the artwork that they produce. Subjects range all the way from animals to flowers to landscapes. Students enjoy being able to think freely and use their minds to paint beautiful pieces of art. Senior Alena W. commented, “It’s a very relaxing class. It takes my mind off regular school and teaches me new skills.” The class encourages free-thinking, an important skill to have through high school and even into the workplace. Sophomore Kim H. says, “There aren’t enough classes where students are able to express themselves. With more opportunities to have a more open learning environment, there will be help for kids being judged solely on being correct to use their imagination more often.” The painting class is a great place for Lake City to start introducing a more left-brained approach to learning.
